Happy Friday!

I hope this email finds each of you well! Last weekend I had the pleasure of taking 5 of our students to Mars Hill Choral Clinic! it was such a joy to have them work with one of my favorite clinicians Dr. Craig Jessop. The concert was beautiful!

Participation grades and Google Classroom Grades:

This is a reminder for any absence excused or unexcused that choral students must fill out a practice log to receive points for participation. They all should be aware of where to put the forms once they are filled out. This is a CHANGE from first semester so, you may notice that participation grades are different from last quarter and the one prior. I will change grades weekly for forms turned in.

Students have a various assignments that are on classroom that if not turned in on time are zeros as well. Please be aware of the grades as they come in so they do not become a problem.

In the coming days, you will receive a statement from the choir on your payments to the choir thus far this school year for any reason. This will include but not be limited to: Booster memberships, dress/tux purchase or rental, donations, field trip payments, t-shirts, etc. Please check over this statement carefully and make sure that you have not missed an important payment. These payments are school obligations and are considered and must be reconciled prior to receiving report cards at the close of the school year.  Also, you are welcome to make payments via paypal through charms for any outstanding obligation or send in cash or check to be put in the black box for the treasurer to get.

Choral Arts Boosters (CAB):

I would like to thank the new parents we had show up for the boosters meeting on February 7th! It was so nice to get to know each of you a little bit better and show you what NWSACAB is all about. If you enjoyed your time at the booster meeting and would like to join us as a member of our executive board or could not make the meeting but would love to be come more involved, please let me know! We are always happy to see new faces. I would also like to welcome Tiffanny Dunn to our executive board for the 2017-2018 school year. She will be taking of the job as treasurer and we could not be more excited to have her!

Congratulations to the Women’s Chamber Choir for being selected to participate in the inaugural Charlotte Concerts Showcase! This is a huge honor. The young women will be performing at the Belk Theater against all of the other selected ensembles for a prize for the choir! Fingers Crossed!

MPA: MPA is short for Music Performance Adjudication. This event will take place for all High School Choral Students in the March. Please be aware that students will be asked to practice at home regularly and support their efforts! They are working super hard in class!

Pre-MPA Concert:

Our next concert will take place on March 2, 2017 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church located on Beatties Ford Road (the same church as the Fall and Winter Concert). Students will need to arrive at 6:15pm ready to sing and in the sanctuary. Please start planning now to make sure that your student will arrive in a timely manner.

Western Tour:

All BOA earnings should be available in your Charms Statement. Each Student should have an updated statement for the trip available in Charms next week. Please give us the weekend to make sure that the account has been updated. There was a payment due today of $600 and the final payment is due on February 23. All Chaperones should be paying at this point as well.  THE BOOSTER CLUB CAN NOT FLOAT MONEY! Please make sure your account is up to date immediately or will will remove your from the trip.  There is a MANDATORY trip meeting on February 15, 2016 for all parties going on the trip. This information will be vital.

Have a great weekend!
